The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps offers young men and women the chance to experience the traditions, discipline, and teamwork of the Navy and Coast Guard—while developing the confidence to lead in any walk of life.
As a Sea Cadet, you’ll learn to take charge of your own success, set ambitious goals, and push yourself to reach new heights. The lessons you gain here will serve you for a lifetime—in school, in your career, and in every opportunity ahead.
Before you can join our ranks, you’ll need to meet the following admission requirements:
- Age
- Navy League Cadet Corps
- Must be at least 10 years old but not have reached his or her 14th birthday
 
 
- Mavy Sea Cadet Corps
- Must be at least 13 years old but not have reached his or her 18th birthday
 
 - Must be at least 13 years old but not have reached his or her 18th birthday
 
 - Navy League Cadet Corps
 - Citizenship
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident
 
 - Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident
 - Suitability
- Unmarried, is not sexually promiscuous, and does not have any children
 
- Does not use, and rejects the use of, alcohol
 
- Does not use, and rejects the use of, illegal and/or recreational drugs
 
- Not part of a criminal or street gang
 
- No pattern of unfavorable interactions with the police, and has never been arrested and charged with a crime or a delinquent act in a court of law
 
 - Physical Fitness
- Must be able to participate in the basic required activities of the program
 
 - Must be able to participate in the basic required activities of the program
 - Academics
- Must demonstrate that the applicant is a student in good standing
